We collaborated with the Wayne McGregor | Random Dance company in producing performing arts animation for the Light Atlas dance performance.
The animation was projected with the live dance performance, designed to seamlessly integrate with the live lighting and score of the dance piece.
The choreographers' direction for the piece was to propel the imagination into a fresh dimension where alien universes collide in a futuristic expedition to find the map of tomorrow.
We worked closely with the visual artist Shirazeh Houshiary to produce the Dust animation.
Dust was first presented as a projected HD animated film installation at London's Lisson Gallery in exhibition alongside the artist's fine art paintings and sculptures, then at New York's Lehmann Maupin Gallery.
Following exhibition we mastered the animation to Blu-ray for museums and collectors of the artist's works.
We collaborated with the Wayne McGregor | Random Dance company in producing performing arts animation for the company's 10 year anniversary Nemesis dance performance.
Nemesis premiered at London's Sadler's Wells theatre, before touring to more than 40 countries worldwide.
The animation was designed to seamlessly integrate with the live lighting and score of the dance performance, then projected with the live dance in the theatre.
The choreographers' inspiration behind the dance performance was to explore the relationship between the body, screen and machine.
We collaborated with the Ape Theatre Company in producing performing arts animation for the company's Pills Thrills at Automobiles theatre performance.
The project was backed by the UK government, A.C.P.O. and debated in the House of Lords. Following completion the theatre performance toured the UK for over 10 years.
The piece was the first where the company had incorporated live film and animation with a stage performance. We designed the film and animation to be projected with the theatre performance, to interplay with the actors onstage, compliment the lighting and score, and give further depth and meaning to the scenes.
