Shirazeh Houshiary Veil 3D Animation Premiere

Veil is due to be presented for the first time at the Lehmann Maupin Gallery, New York, between February 18 and March 25, 2006.

Veil is part of Shirazeh Houshiary's forthcoming exhibition - opening reception: February 18, from 6-8 pm.

Shirazeh Houshiary will present a new body of work for her fourthexhibition at Lehmann Maupin Gallery. 

The paintings in this exhibitionare representative of Houshiary's continued interest in form, light andspace achieved through meticulous layers and fine markings. 

Her first,large scale animation will also be projected during the exhibition.

The original version of Veil was createdfor the Random Dance Company in London and premiered for the productionAmu at Sadlers Wells Theatre in London September 2005.It is set totour worldwide in 2006. 

Houshiary has developed the animation furtherand created an independent film from the stage production with the helpof 3D animator Mark Hatchard from HotBox Studios.
