The website <a href="http://www.HotBoxEvents.com">www.HotBoxEvents.com</a> will be going live in late February. <a href="http://www.HotBoxEvents.com">HotBox Events</a> will be the new home for the Festival CATs - volunteers run by HotBox Events on behalf of <a href="http://www.festivalrepublic.com/">Festival Republic</a> at the <a href="http://www.latitudefestival.co.uk/">Latitude Festival</a>, <a href="http://www.readingfestival.com/">Reading Festival</a> and <a href="http://www.leedsfestival.com/">Leeds Festival</a>.</p> <br /><br /> <p>The Festival CATs have been run by <a href="http://www.hotboxstudios.co.uk/">HotBox Studios</a> on behalf of <a href="http://www.festivalrepublic.com/">Festival Republic</a> via the <a href="http://www.dcsiteservices.com/">DC Site Services</a> (DCSS) website from 2003 to 2008. DCSS supplies thousands of staff to the festival and event industry each year. We’re installing three new servers and additional security hardware which will all be housed within the UK. </p><br /><p> Up until now HotBox Studios has provided online services (inc web hosting, secure file transfer and backup, online software and databases) via hardware based in Germany. Due to the number of websites HotBox Studios now runs and the popularity of the <a href="http://www.paamapplication.co.uk/">PAAM software</a> HotBox Studios released in 2007 – we’re pushing the limits of the current technology. </p><br /><p> As far as what this will mean for our client’s – websites, on-line software and other services will be much faster, more reliable and more secure. If you are reading this as a client of HotBox Studios and worrying that your bills will be increasing – please don’t worry! Although that in 2009 alone these upgrades will cost HotBox Studios over fifteen thousand pounds – we do not plan to pass this cost onto our clients. </p><br /><p> For those technically minded and interested in exactly what we are doing... </p><br /><p> 3 x high-end Dell servers’ including Xeon processors, SCSI drives on RAID5, redundant power supplies, Cisco firewalls... </p><br /><p> Two of these servers being a mirrored set-up for the web server – meaning one of the two front end web servers could fail without any interruption to websites or on-line services and with no loss of data.
