Nemesis premieres at Sadlers Wells (London, UK) on the 1st March 2002. HotBox Studios produced animation & visual effects for Nemesis in collaboration with Random Dance.

Nemesis was created through the support of a Year of the Artist Award from Southern Arts, and was made possible with support from the Arts Council England, is co-commissioned by South Hill Park, Swindon Dance, Sadlers Wells and DanceEast.

Due to overwhelming demand, Scanner has released the score to Random Dance's Nemesis, a work that explores the relationship between body, screen and machine - extraterrestrial dance meets reality TV. Having previously written several scores for contemporary dance, Nemesis is the first complete score that Scanner has released on CD. At just over one hour long Nemesis captures the image of dance in sound, shifting between scattering beats and warm seductive strings, melancholic melodies and pixellated abstraction.

This CD is the second release on Bette, a new label imprint established by Scanner to issue works that would otherwise be unheard outside of the context of the original commission. The CD is available to buy securely on line at: http://posteverything.com/bette
